What’s Your Reason To Leave?
It’s what they don’t tell you about on the so-called “news”. More Americans than ever are opting to make a USAExit. The reasons are as varied as the people who are choosing to leave.
This, of course, goes contrary to the narrative the government indoctrinates into Americans’ brains from the time they start school. The United States is the land of opportunity, land of the free and home of the brave. The place where people from all over the globe are flocking to, hoping for success so they can live the “American Dream”.
Those of us who have had enough life experiences, who choose to read and enquire for themselves, to read, to ask questions and to draw their own conclusions know that all of that narrative is pure propaganda. An exageration at best, a lie at worst. Obviously, there are places on Earth far worse, but that doesn’t make the narrative true. The United States has a history deeply rooted in rascism, violence, intolerance, the haves and the have nots. It has never been a real democracy and now barely resembles even a republic.
Americans are choosing to leave the USA for various reasons. For many, they are fed up with the political polarisation, tired of a government that extracts billions in tax dollars yet invests very little into its people, their well-being and the country’s infrastructure. They have had enough of forever wars, the lies behind why they are necessary, the conscious disregard of international law and the acts of terror committed on other people/nations.
For others, it is the unaffordable health care. The United States is the only so-called advanced nation that fails to provide universal health coverage for its citizens. While health care CEOs earn millions of dollars and the corporations they head earn billions, many Americans cannot afford to have health insurance. In what normal universe should health care be a for-profit business, where you are one accident away from bankruptcy? Quality of healthcare is an important consideration driving people to prefer life as an expat. Countries like Spain, Portugal, Italy and others have advanced healthcare systems, and many countries in Europe offer universal healthcare. The savings are considerable compared to the U.S. healthcare system.
For others, it is the insanely high cost of living, housing, food, services. On top of all this is the gun violence, shootings, and general sense of insecurity that comes with life in the United States. More recently, the United States has also taken a definite turn in the direction of fascism. Rights constitionally protected by the First Amendment are being upenly ignored by state and Federal governments. People are being abducted off the streets and disappeared. Hate and intolerance are being praised. It is bad and likely getting worse. And yet, there is no protest. Americans are too docile, too content, too convinced that “it can’t happen to me”, to intimidated, or simply too overwhelmed at keeping their bills and credit cards paid to bother to voice their opinion. Or maybe they secretly agree with some of these measures or have fallen for the propaganda, not realising that their acquiessence now might well come back to haunt them later. You can only divide and destabilise a country so much before there are serious repercussions.
